There are only so many exciting life events for a person or family and I wanted a career that touches one of these moments, buying a home is one of those. I’m also from a close family and the idea of working closely with my brother, who is a realtor, was highly attractive to me. I also love a career where if you do a good job someone goes out and gets you more business. That’s awesome.
I never knew what I wanted to do when growing up, but after to talking to my brother (Chris Whitten, owner of Premeer Real Estate), he suggested that I talk with a mortgage professional he had recently met. I was hired by Shamrock Financial in 2011.
I make sure that every client is aware of their options, especially since I work with a lot of first-time home buyers. I have a knack for helping them find the right mortgage that best fits their needs. I really enjoy helping people get into their new homes!
What’s the one problem you are best at solving for your clients? What do your ideal clients say about you?
Explaining the entire process of buying a house (from pre-approval to closing) is my specialty. My ideal clients will say I am always there to answer their questions. Even if I do not have an answer right away, I will find someone who does.

What would be impossible for you to give up?
Competitive sports – it allows me to meet lots of great people who also compete in those leagues.
What is your greatest fear?
Mayonnaise. It’s evil.
