I had been in the mortgage industry for over 13 years when things began to change at my current lender. It wasn’t until I met with Shamrock Financial that I found where the grass was truly greener. I have been with Shamrock since 2011 and I have to say, it has only gotten better.
Product and industry knowledge, in terms of sharing and educating. Not only does this include my clients, but realtors, attorneys and other loan officers too. When I don’t know the answer, I find out so that I can educate myself as well.
I take the time to discover their actual comfort zone when it comes to a mortgage payment. Too many buyers ask for the most they can qualify for and too many lenders are happy to oblige without discussing what the corresponding monthly payment actually would be. I don’t do that; instead, I make sure we uncover their comfort range and get them into a home they can comfortably “afford”.
Education – whether it is educating a first-time buyer about the process, a new realtor about the industry, or an experienced individual about the changes that are happening daily.
My family! When my older daughter was 11, she wanted to start a special needs baseball program in town – and she actually did it! It immediately expanded into Spring Baseball and Winter Basketball programs. The Nashoba Valley Unlimited Baseball and Basketball programs (NVUB) have been running for 5 years now – it makes for an incredible experience for everyone. My whole family participates now.
I also love watching my son and my younger daughter play hockey.
I’m at an ice rink with the kids, working around the house, and spending time with family and friends.
In 2012, my family received the Gibson Award from the Town of Ayer Parks Department for Volunteerism in the Community. Although I may have received other awards, this plaque hangs in our home because we are so proud of it.
